The Oregon and SW Washington Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast
Cancer Foundation announces the availability of funds for community-based
programs in breast health and/or breast cancer education, outreach,
treatment support, and survivor support. Programs can receive up
to $40,000 for one year. Projects targeting services not otherwise
available to the medically underserved populations of Oregon and
SW Washington will receive special consideration.

This year there will be ONE free grant application training session.
The purpose of this training is to encourage non-profit organizations
to apply for Komen Foundation Community Grants. Workshop
pre-registration is required by October 21, 2004. The workshop
includes a continental breakfast and lunch.
All interested applicants, including repeat applicants and current
or former grantees, are encouraged to attend because the application
format has been changed. The workshop will offer strategies to assist
in developing a solid application with effective process and outcome
objectives. Registration and grant materials may be found below.

Komen Grant Application deadline is December 10th, 2004.
The local Affiliate also provides Mini Grants of up to $1,500.
Mini Grants are awarded to fund tangible items, such as printed
materials to help provide breast cancer/breast health outreach and
education. Mini-Grants are offered 4 times a year. Deadlines are
currently September 30, December 31, March 31, and June 30.
