Northwest Cancer Specialists, New Balance Portland, GI Joe's, and
the Bike Gallery are joining together to sell pink Strength-Hope-Courage
bracelets to raise funds and awareness for the fight against breast
cancer. Bracelets are available for $2 each at the New Balance Portland
store at Pioneer Place, Bike Gallery, GI Joe's, and at Northwest
Cancer Specialists locations in the metro area. A kick off for the
bracelets sales will be held at Pioneer Place on Friday, November
12 at 10:30 a.m., with the goal of collecting more than $60,000
for the local Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Funds from bracelet sales will benefit the educational and treatment
programs of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, based in
Portland. Three-quarters of funds raised locally support breast
cancer programs in Oregon and S.W. Washington, with the remaining
25 percent of donations supporting national breast cancer research.
Nine metro locations of Northwest Cancer Specialists (For a listing

the New Balance Portland store at Pioneer Place, GI Joe's, and Bike
Gallery locations will sell the Strength-Hope-Courage bracelets.
Following the popularity of the yellow Lance Armstrong bracelets
nationwide, 40,000 of the Strength-Courage-Hope breast cancer awareness
bracelets will be available locally until supplies run out. You

of 5, 10, 25, 50, or 100. Once you enter the website, the Login

This is not the first time Northwest Cancer Specialists, New Balance
Portland, and GI Joe's have joined together to make a difference
in the fight against breast cancer. Each company locally sponsors
the annual Komen Portland Race for the Cure®. Northwest Cancer
Specialists is a Local Presenting Sponsor for the past three years
and their Race team had the second largest turnout of any team in
2004 with more than 600 members. New Balance is a National Race
Series Sponsor since 1991. GI Joe's has sponsored the local Race
since 1994.
