Saturday, September 14th at the Oregon Convention Center, the Oregon
& SW Washington Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer
Foundation will host a Survivor Celebration Luncheon. Survivors,
and their guests, are invited to attend this inspiring event as
a way to celebrate survivorship!
Invitations are mailed to every 2001 Race participant who indicated
they were breast cancer survivors. If you are not on that
list, and would like an invitation, please email us at racecure@komenoregon.org
or call the Race Hotline at (503) 553-3680, Survivor Mailbox, to
request one. Tickets are $15 for survivors and $20 for guests.
This year's luncheon will be able to accommodate over 1,200 people!
Breast cancer survivors who register for the Portland Race also
receive a special pink survivor T-shirt and cap. Visit the
Survivor Booth at Health Expo (Sept. 13th and 14th at the Oregon
Convention Center) or at the Race, to pick them up.
For the second year in a row, there will be a special Survivor
Tent (“Decked in Pink”) at the Race. The Tent features great
snacks and special treats for survivors. Show your pink Race
survivor bib number for entrance; it will be open from 7 AM – 11
AM. Stop by!
At 11:15 AM on Race Day, a breast cancer survivor photo will be taken
in front of the Main Stage at Waterfront Park. Copies of this
photo will be sent to any survivor who requests one. This, too,
is a great way to come together with fellow survivors to document
survivorship!
